We were chuffed to bits to be involved as the Official Events Partner for the inaugural National Album Day, an initiative of the British Phonographic Society and the Entertainment Retailer’s Association. But for us, it was more like a ‘National Album Week’ rather than a single day!
Having said that, every day is an ‘Album Day’ for us. Since our inception in 2010, Classic Album Sundays has both rekindled and for some, kindled, music fans’ love of the album format. We love albums! And National Album Day was a great way to focus our appreciation upon our favourite albums and to discover albums we have never heard before. Roll on National Album Day 2019!
But before we set our gaze to next year’s festivities, we took a look back at our week-long run of events featuring live interviews with special guests KT Tunstall, Paloma Faith, Orbital, Primal Scream, The Kinks’ Dave Davies and Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore on their own classic albums, as well as our other National Album Day activities on the airwaves and in print. Here is our National Album Day 2018 Round-Up…
