We are delighted to have been asked to host our first ever events in India in association with Audio Lounge Pune. Joining us for these events will be legendary producer Ken Scott who has worked with iconic artists such as The Beatles, David Bowie, Pink Floyd and Supertramp.
For these events we will be digging deep into the stories behind The Beatles ‘The Beatles’ (The White Album) and David Bowie ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’.
Friday’s event will be a small invite only session The Beatles at Audio Lounge Puna 11, Koregaon Park Rd, Vasani Nagar, Koregaon Park, Pune.
Saturdays event will feature David Bowie ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’ with producer Ken Scott who had a close relationship with Bowie and produced four of his albums: ‘Hunky Dory’, ‘‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’ ‘Aladdin Sane’ and ‘Pin Ups’ – not to mention engineering and producing for The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Billy Cobham, Supertramp and Mahavishnu Orchestra. BBC and Worldwide FM broadcaster Colleen Murphy will discuss with Ken Bowie’s what it was like to work with Bowie and needless to say, many great stories recounted.
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars was released on the 6th of June, 1972 and a month later Bowie performed ‘Starman’ dressed as an alien rock star on Top of the Pops, an event that changed many future musicians’ lives. Opinion was divided. The freaks loved him and the traditionalists dared not decipher the alien in their living rooms. But any PR is good PR and this performance helped spur Ziggy to become the most significant mythological rock icon. Read more about the album here.
