The official commercial debut album of Scottish brothers Boards of Canada, ‘Music Has the Right to Children’ immediately captivated listeners upon its release in 1998 with its innovative sonic blend of old and new technologies and its nostalgic and emotional gravitas. The duo underpin their melodic sensibility with samples, field recordings and tape manipulation that are more concerned with the psychology underlying it rather than its obvious aesthetic.
