We’re coming back to one of our favourite festivals with a great programme of sessions and featuring the loud and proud American loudspeaker manufacturer, Klipsch. We used their speakers the first time we were there and are happy to feature them in all their glory once again!
Situated inside the stunning surroundings of Lulworth Castle’s St. Andrews Church, Classic Album Sundays at Camp Bestival will allow music lovers to fully worship their favourite albums with daily morning and afternoon services including Sunday when the church will forgo its usual Sunday service to be replaced by some proper music worship. Each session will feature a presentation on the selected album followed by an uninterrupted vinyl playback on one of the world’s best audiophile sound systems worth over £500,000, with loudspeakers by Klipsch Audio and the turntable and amplification by Audio Note.
Following the Classic Album Sundays mantra of celebrating albums that helped shape contemporary culture and the music of today, legendary producer Joe Boyd will be this year’s star special guest. He and CAS founder Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy will discuss two very classic albums celebrating their 45 year anniversaries, both of which he produced: Fairport Convention ‘Liege & Lief’ and Nick Drake ‘Five Leaves Left’. Laura Mvula and Steve Mason will also be with us presenting one of their favourite albums.
For the young’uns, there will be a Kids Session on Saturday morning with a drawing contest featuring The Beatles ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club’. We will also be giving away FOPP record shop gift vouchers and awesome Klipsch S3M earbuds in our lucky draws. Follow @ClassicAlbumSun for regular updates.
Attendees should report to the entrance of St. Andrews Church in advance of the session which will start promptly at the scheduled time. We have limited seating and it will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
