October’s Classic Album Sunday event features pioneering German electronic band Kraftwerk and their seminal album ‘Trans-Europe Express’. Kraftwerk’s Trans-Europe Express was released 40 years ago and will be featured in a Colorado Springs communal listening party Sunday Oct 22.
Kraftwerk’s pioneering electronic beats are at their cleanest here, and the electronically processed vocals have never resonated with such purity. The influence of Kraftwerk on hip-hop and modern music continues to this day, thanks to Afrika Bambaataa’s appropriation of the “metal on metal” section of the title track for his hit “Planet Rock”. Astonishingly fresh and as relevant as ever, join us to experience Trans-Europe Express in fantastic analog sound.
The venue for CAS – Colorado Springs is Local Relic located in the 120-year-old Carter Payne on the SE edge of downtown Colorado Springs, CO.
