François Kevorkian sits down with Classic Album Sundays founder and radio host/DJ Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy on Thursday 9th March 2023 at 19:30 – 21:15 for an in-depth discussion of his musical inspirations.

Tickets £16 in advance

François is one of the most influential names in dance and electronic music, and a key figure in the transition from disco to house, techno and beyond.

After moving from France to New York City in 1975 he found a career DJing in clubs such as the Paradise Garage and Studio 54, while mixing classic disco tracks ‘In The Bush’ by Musique, ‘Keep On’ by D-Train, ‘Beat The Street’ by Sharon Redd, and ‘Go Bang’ by Dinosaur L. Having produced remixes for artists including Kraftwerk, Pet Shop Boys, Depeche Mode, Diana Ross, Gloria Estefan and U2, he returned to DJing globally in the Nineties and at his Body&SOUL events, while developing his own music, such as eternal tracks ‘Hypnodelic’ and ‘Time & Space’, in ever deeper ways.

Amidst the chat, François will play records by some of his favourite artists along with some of his own work. The evening concludes with a Q&A with the audience.

This event will take place in the British Library Entrance Hall. It will be simultaneously live streamed on the British Library platform. Tickets may be booked either to attend in person (physical) or to watch on our platform (online) either live or within 48 hours on catch up. Viewing links for the online version will be sent out shortly before the event.

The online version of this event will be live captioned.
