The UK’s first “Vinyl Festival” will take place on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th at the relatively new London venue, Printworks. Billed as a “weekend-long immersive vinyl experience” the event will also feature appearances from Huey Morgan, Tim Burgess, Edith Bowman, Steve Lamacq, and Classic Album Sundays founder Colleen Murphy, all of whom will be speaking about their experiences with and passion for the vinyl format.
As the event’s Resident Advisor event page states: “Consolidating all aspects of vinyl culture under one huge roof, festival-goers can dig through thousands of crates of vinyl on sale from 100 stalls of the UK’s most exciting independent labels and record traders, plus a further 48 stands showcasing the newest developments in audio technology, hardware and vinyl care. There will also be Vinyl Evaluation area, where collectors can have their records evaluated by a team of experts. A selection of mouth-watering street food and fully stocked bars serving craft beer will provide refreshments throughout the day.”
The Vinyl Festival follows a spate of popular vinyl-related events in the capital, including the well-established Record Store Day, and the freshly inaugurated Run Out series which took place last month in Peckham. Keep an eye out for tickets on sale soon.
