Classic Album Sundays presents Daft Punk ‘Discovery’

For our August listening sessions we are going French with Daft Punk’s second studio album Discovery which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.

The album was a departure from the duo’s previous Chicago influenced house music into ‘song’ led productions that were in Thomas Bangalter’s own words a way of “saying to the electronic kids, ‘Rock is cool, you know? You can like that.'” Daft Punk’s sophomore effort featured many of Daft Punk’s influences including garage hero Todd Edwards, Chicago house prodcuer DJ Sneak and New Jersey dance artist Romanthony. In fact, they had all been asked to appear on the first Daft Punk LP Homework but wouldn’t commit as Daft Punk weren’t known enough at the time! Read more about the album here.

Join us at one of our worldwide listening sessions to hear the album in it’s full glory on our world class audiophile sound systems. Listening guidelines apply.
