In November 2016 we were delighted to team up with Boiler Room to host an amazing event with Wolfgang Voigt celebrating his ‘Gas’ alias.
From the dark tones of 1997’s “Zauberberg”, through to 2000’s glistening “Pop”, the music Voigt recorded under his GAS moniker remains perhaps his most beloved and influential of a long career. Contemporary geniuses such as Tim Hecker, The Field, Burial, Donato Dozzy, William Basinski and more all carry the GAS hallmarks.
Hear all the music broken down by Voigt during this rare public appearance. For further listening, four classic GAS releases were compiled in a boxset, released last year – available here: www.kompakt.fm/releases/box
Since the talk took place, Voigt has announced a return to touring and a long-awaited follow-up, “Narkopop” – order here: KompaktRecords.lnk.to/Narkopop
